How a Pick and Drop Package Works
A pick and drop package is the simplest form of driver hire: fixed pickup times, fixed routes, the same driver, and one monthly invoice. You are not paying for a chauffeur to sit outside your office all day. You are paying for two (or four) reliable legs per day: home to work, work to home, plus a school run or airport trip where needed. The driver arrives 5-10 minutes early, the car is already cool in August, and the route is the one that actually works at that hour, not whatever the app driver's GPS suggests.
Most clients run the service in their own car with our driver, the same model as our part-time driver arrangement but locked to a commute schedule. If you do not own a car, a package with vehicle included is available at a higher monthly rate.
Fixed schedule
Same pickup times Monday to Friday (or Saturday). No daily booking, no confirmation calls.
Same driver
One assigned driver who knows your route, your building, and your kids.
Monthly billing
One agreed rate per month. No surge, no per-ride meter, no surprises.
Your car or ours
Driver-only in your vehicle, or a package with a car included.
Add-ons welcome
School run, weekend errands, or airport trips bolted onto the base commute.
Ladies-only option
Female chauffeur available for school runs and family commutes.
Monthly Pick and Drop Rates
| Package | What's Covered | Monthly Rate |
|---|---|---|
| One-way daily (your car) | Morning drop to office or school, Mon-Fri | AED 1,500-2,200 |
| Return daily (your car) | Morning drop + evening pickup, Mon-Fri | AED 2,500-3,500 |
| School run add-on | Kids to school and back, added to a commute package | AED 800-1,200 |
| Weekend errands add-on | 3-4 hours Saturday or Sunday: groceries, mall, family visits | AED 600-900 |
| Return daily with vehicle | Car + driver included, commute hours only | AED 6,500-9,500 |
Rates depend on distance, timing, and days per week. Salik tolls (AED 4 per gate) at cost. For all-day coverage with a chauffeur and vehicle, see the full monthly chauffeur retainer at AED 14,000-22,000/month.
The Main Use Cases
Office commute
The classic package. A driver collects you in Mirdif at 7:30am, takes Airport Road and the Financial Centre Road exit, and has you at DIFC Gate Village before 8:10 on a normal day. Or JVC to Media City: out via Hessa Street, across Al Khail Road, at the office in 20-25 minutes while you clear your inbox in the back seat. The driver then returns your car home (or parks it, your choice) and comes back for the 6pm pickup. You arrive at work having done something useful instead of white-knuckling Sheikh Zayed Road traffic yourself.
School pick and drop
Added to a commute package or booked standalone. The driver handles the 7am school drop, waits at the gate pickup queue in the afternoon, and delivers the kids home or to activities. Dubai school gate traffic is its own ecosystem, and a driver who does the same school daily knows exactly which lane and which timing works. Note that UAE law requires children under 4 to be in a child car seat, with an AED 400 fine and 4 black points for violations; read our guide to child car seat rules in Dubai. For the full picture on routines, waiting, and vetting, see the school run driver guide.
Airport pick and drop
For frequent flyers, airport legs can be built into the monthly package instead of booked ad hoc. If you fly out of DXB Terminal 3 most Sunday nights and land back Thursday, those four monthly transfers get folded into your rate. Your regular driver already knows your terminal, your luggage habits, and that you want the Airport Tunnel rather than Casablanca Street after 5pm.
Ladies-only pick and drop
Households that prefer a female driver for daughters, mothers, or a ladies-only school run can book the same packages with a female chauffeur. Availability is tighter than for male drivers, so lock the slot in a week or two ahead of your start date.
Why Not Just Book a Careem Every Morning?
You can, and plenty of people do until the third time it goes wrong in one week. At 7:30am on a working day the app shows surge pricing, the assigned driver is 12 minutes away and coming from the wrong direction, and yesterday's driver who knew your villa gate has been replaced by someone circling the community looking for the entrance. Multiply a surge-hour fare by 44 legs a month and you are often at or above the cost of a dedicated pick and drop package, except with 44 chances for a late arrival and 44 different drivers meeting your children.
A monthly package removes the variance. The rate is fixed in advance, the driver is the same person, and if your meeting runs to 6:40pm you WhatsApp him rather than re-entering a pickup pin. If your schedule needs more than commute legs, the step up is a personal driver on a monthly basis who stays with you through the day.
