Most pet journeys in Dubai start the same way: a vet slot in an hour, a dog that weighs thirty kilos, and a ride-hailing request where nobody knows about the animal until the car pulls up. A driver who turns around at the sight of a husky on the kerb costs you the appointment. Borrowing a friend's hatchback is the usual fallback, and a hatchback was never designed around a large dog.

Box or harness? Toy breeds and puppies go in a closed carrier, belted to a seat or wedged into the footwell where a hard stop on Sheikh Zayed Road cannot slide it. Bigger dogs wear a harness clipped to a short lead and ride on the back bench or the folded floor behind it. All we ask is that the dog is restrained somehow and not roaming the cabin. Undecided? Riding with your dog. Please do, it usually helps. Your dog watches you rather than the traffic, and you keep hold of the lead at the kerb and at the destination. An unaccompanied dog is also fine, typically for a groomer drop or a clinic collection, provided someone you name hands over at the pickup and someone is waiting to receive at the far end.
How the Yukon is laid out. For one large dog, the Yukon's rearmost bench goes down and leaves a broad, low bay behind the middle seats. The dog stretches out there while you sit one row ahead, within arm's reach. Two medium dogs get the middle bench folded too, giving them one continuous floor. The Vito's level floor and wide side opening make it the calmer pick for dogs that hesitate at a high tailgate.
Big breeds and small ones. The usual mistake is booking by the number of people instead of by the dog. A golden retriever, a malinois or a Great Dane needs somewhere to lie flat, which means length, which means a large SUV with the back folded. A chihuahua or a pomeranian in its box only needs a steady spot away from the window glare. For giant breeds or several dogs at once, tell us how many animals and their total weight so one car does the job.

Vet clinics, with the car waiting. Checkups, jabs, a follow-up after an operation or an urgent visit. The driver stays near the clinic until you come out, which spares you hunting for a second ride home with a sleepy or sore animal. After surgery we take speed bumps and roundabouts gently and keep the carrier flat.
Groomers. A grooming session often runs past its booked slot, because the coat decides when it is finished. Book the drop-off at a fixed time and keep the collection flexible: message us when the salon calls and a car heads back. You can also stay with your dog and ride both ways.
Boarding kennels and pet hotels. Dropping a dog at boarding before you fly and fetching it after you land pairs naturally with your own airport run. Mention both when you book and we time the kennel stop around your flight.
Moving house between communities. A move from a Marina apartment to a villa in Arabian Ranches, or from JLT out to Mirdif, is a long and noisy day for any pet. We collect the animal on its own after the movers have cleared the rooms, so it rides in a quiet car rather than next to the truck, and arrives once the new place has settled down.
DXB and DWC relocation handovers. When a pet is flying out, the final ground leg is ours: from your home to the relocation agent's office or to the cargo side at Dubai International (DXB) or Al Maktoum International (DWC), with room left over for your own cases. Handing over an animal takes much longer than dropping a passenger at departures, so plan an earlier pickup than feels necessary. Pet Transport in Dubai Summer Heat
Summer is the part of pet transport in Dubai that needs the most planning. The National Center of Meteorology's long-term records put average July highs across the UAE at roughly 40 to 44°C, and asphalt or paving in direct sun gets much hotter than the air above it.
Pre-cooling the car. The driver runs the air conditioning on the way to your building, so the cabin is already cold when the door opens. We never leave an animal alone in the car, with or without the engine running.
Lobby, lift, basement. In a tower, the easiest route is usually lift to lobby to the residents' car park, which keeps paws off hot ground outside. Tell us which level and entrance your building uses and the driver meets you there. Put the harness on or shut the carrier while you are still in the flat: a basement is echoing, full of reversing cars, and the worst possible place for a startled dog to pull free.
Villas and street pickups. At a villa, the driver pulls up as close to the gate as the street allows so the dash from door to car is brief, using any shade that is on offer.
Timing. Between May and September, pick an early morning or post-sunset slot for anything longer than a short hop. Midday works for a quick clinic visit, but the walk to the car is when paws suffer.
Cat Transport in Dubai, Plus Rabbits and Birds
Cat transport is a regular part of our pet work in Dubai, and the typical cat trip is a clinic appointment or a move to a new flat. Cats always travel boxed: a closed carrier belted onto a seat or set down in the footwell. A thin towel draped over the front of the carrier hides the passing traffic, and many cats go quiet once they cannot see out.
Rabbits, guinea pigs, birds and other small pets come in their own hutch, cage or travel box. We keep it level, clear of windows that catch the sun, and out of the cold blast of an air-con vent. Before the Driver Arrives
Drink, but no dinner. Give a light drink before leaving and pack a folding bowl if the trip runs past about thirty minutes. Hold back the meal for two hours beforehand, since car sickness in pets usually follows a full stomach.
Something that smells of home. A worn T-shirt or the dog's own blanket on the seat does more than a pocket of treats. Talk in your normal voice, since dogs pick up on a tense one.
Calming medication from your vet. If your vet has given you something for travel nerves, dose it exactly as instructed and mention it to the driver. A drowsy dog then looks expected rather than unwell.
Papers and spares. Take the vaccination card to any clinic, groomer or kennel, along with a second lead, a towel and some wipes. Each clinic and boarding facility sets its own entry conditions, so ask what to bring when you confirm the appointment.

We drive animals between addresses inside the UAE. The short list below is everything that falls outside that, so you do not message us for something we cannot do.
Flights, permits, crates and customs. Airline bookings for animals, export and import paperwork, travel crates that meet airline rules, customs and any quarantine arrangements are specialist work for a pet relocation company, and for an international move it pays to hire one. Our part starts once they are ready: we bring the pet to their office or straight to the handover point they give you.
Medical care. Drivers are chauffeurs, not vet nurses. They will not give medicine, sedate or treat an animal on the way. For a pet in a serious state, phone your vet before anything else and ask whether the clinic can send its own pet ambulance.
Boarding, walks and sitting. We do not hold animals overnight, walk them or look after them between appointments.
Rulings on regulations. Pet rules on microchips, registration, animals in cars and travel documents differ from one emirate to the next and get updated, so we will not guess at them for you. Your vet, your airline or the relevant local authority is the reliable source.
