Pet Taxi and Dog Transport Dubai

Transport for pets across Dubai and the UAE. Dog transportation, cat transport, vet trips, airport runs, and relocations. Tell us your pet's size and breed when you book - we prepare the vehicle accordingly.

Pet Transport in Dubai

Finding transport for a pet in Dubai is not straightforward. Standard taxi apps typically do not allow animals. Even when drivers accept, there is no guarantee they are comfortable or prepared, and you have no way to know until the car arrives. Owners end up cancelling the vet appointment or borrowing a friend's hatchback that was never suited to a large dog.

Gulf Chauffeur arranges pet transport in advance. When you book, you tell us your pet's breed, size, and whether they use a carrier or harness. We prepare the vehicle accordingly and send a driver who is ready for the journey. No unpleasant surprises for you or your pet.

We use GMC Yukons for most dog transportation bookings - the space allows large dogs to travel comfortably, and there is room for both the pet and the owner without anyone feeling cramped. For cats, small dogs, and carrier-based trips, the Mercedes Vito is often the easier vehicle, with a low step-in height and a flat floor.

Dog Transport in Dubai: How It Works

People searching for a transport service for dogs usually want the same four practical questions answered before they book. Here is how each one is handled.

Carrier or harness. Small dogs travel best in a closed carrier, which sits on a seat or in the footwell and stops the animal moving around during braking. Medium and large dogs usually travel on a harness with a short lead, either on the rear bench or in the load area. Whichever you use, the dog should be secured rather than loose in the cabin. Not sure what suits your dog? Describe the breed and weight when you message us.

Do you travel with the dog. You are welcome in the vehicle, and most owners come along. A familiar person in reach keeps the animal settled and means you handle the lead at both ends. Sending the dog unaccompanied is common for vet collections and grooming pickups, but it needs a named contact at both addresses who can hand the animal over.

Seating and boot arrangements. In the GMC Yukon the third row folds flat, turning the rear into a wide, low-sided space where a big dog can lie down while the second row stays free for you. For two medium dogs we fold the second row as well so they travel side by side. In the Vito, the sliding door and flat floor make loading a nervous animal easier, since there is no high lip to jump over.

Large versus small dogs. Vehicle suitability is the part people underestimate. A labrador, husky, saluki, or German shepherd needs floor length rather than seat width, so the answer is a large SUV with the rear folded. A shih tzu or a cat needs a stable, shaded surface for the carrier and nothing more. Extra-large breeds and multi-dog groups are fine, but tell us the combined weight and number so we send the right vehicle the first time.

What Our Dog and Pet Transport Service Covers

Vet trips. Routine checkups, vaccinations, post-operative follow-ups, and urgent visits. We wait during the appointment so you do not have to arrange separate transport home. Post-surgery animals are driven slowly, with the carrier kept level.

Grooming appointments. Drop your pet at the groomer and we collect them when they are ready, or stay with them throughout. The return leg can be left open if the salon cannot commit to a finish time.

Relocation between homes. Moving apartment or villa is the day a pet is most likely to bolt. We run the animal separately from the removal van, usually after the boxes have gone, so the dog or cat travels in a quiet vehicle rather than alongside the chaos.

Airport runs with an animal. If your pet is flying, we handle the ground leg to the terminal or the cargo village, with boot space left over for your own luggage. Build in more time than a normal airport run, because check-in with an animal takes longer than a passenger drop-off. See Dubai Airport transfers for terminal details, and confirm current animal check-in requirements with your airline directly.

Inter-emirate moves. Dubai to Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, Al Ain, and the Dubai to Abu Dhabi corridor. Long legs are planned with a water stop where the schedule allows. If both your pickup and drop-off are inside the capital, book through Pet Taxi Abu Dhabi instead.

Multiple pets. Two dogs, a cat and a dog, or a whole household - send the full list and we will confirm the right vehicle and configuration. Animals that do not get along travel separated, one in a carrier and one on the bench.

Preparing Your Pet for the Journey

A little preparation makes the difference between a calm trip and a stressful one. None of it is complicated.

Secure the animal before the door opens. Clip the harness or close the carrier inside your home, not in an open car park. A dog that slips a lead in a basement garage is the most common problem on these trips, and it is entirely avoidable.

Water yes, food no. Offer water before you set off and bring a collapsible bowl for anything over half an hour. Skip the meal in the two hours before travel. A full stomach plus motion is how most in-car sickness happens.

Heat is the real risk in the UAE. From roughly May to September, ground surfaces in an open car park will burn paw pads within seconds, and a parked vehicle heats up far faster than people expect. So: the vehicle is cooled before we arrive, we load from shaded or basement parking wherever the building allows, the door-to-door walk is kept short, and the animal is never left in the vehicle unattended, not even for a couple of minutes. For longer summer journeys, book early morning or after sunset rather than midday.

Anxious animals. Bring a blanket or toy that smells of home and put it in the carrier or on the seat. Cover a cat carrier with a light cloth so the animal sees less movement. Keep your own voice level, because dogs read tone first. If your vet has prescribed something for travel anxiety, give it at the timing they specified and tell the driver, so nobody mistakes drowsiness for illness. Nervous animals do better with the owner alongside, so ride along if you can.

Bring the basics. Vaccination record if you are heading to a vet, groomer, or boarding facility, plus a spare lead, wipes, and a towel. Requirements vary between clinics, kennels, and emirates, so check what your destination asks for before the day.

What We Do Not Handle

Being clear about the limits saves everyone a wasted enquiry. This is a ground transport service inside the UAE, and that is all it is.

International pet relocation. We do not book animals onto flights, arrange export or import permits, source airline-approved crates, or deal with customs clearance and quarantine. Those belong to dedicated pet relocation companies, and a good one is worth the fee. Once your relocator has the paperwork in place, we will drive your pet to them or to the cargo terminal.

Veterinary care. Our drivers are not veterinary staff. We do not administer medication, sedate animals, or provide treatment in transit. If your animal is in a critical condition, call your clinic first and ask whether they run an ambulance service.

Boarding, walking, and pet sitting. We move animals between addresses. We do not keep them overnight, exercise them, or mind them between appointments.

Advice on rules and paperwork. Requirements for animals in vehicles, microchipping, licensing, and travel documents differ by emirate and change over time, so we will not guess on your behalf. Check current requirements with your vet, your airline, or the relevant local authority before you travel.

Cat Transport and Other Animals

Transport for pets in Dubai is not only about dogs. Cats travel in a closed carrier secured on a seat or in the footwell, never loose, and a light cloth over the carrier keeps most of them quiet for the whole trip. Vet visits and moves between apartments are the two most common cat jobs.

Rabbits, birds, and small caged animals travel on the same basis: a suitable container of your own, kept level and out of direct sun through the window. For anything less usual, message us with the species and the container you use and we will confirm before you book.

How to Book Pet Transport

WhatsApp us at +971 55 734 4876 with the following: type of pet (dog, cat, other), breed and approximate size or weight, whether you use a carrier or harness, whether you are travelling along, your pickup and destination, and the date and time. We will confirm arrangements and send a fixed price before you commit. Pricing is quoted on request for each trip, with no meter and no booking fee.

You are welcome to travel in the vehicle with your pet. In fact, most owners do - it keeps the pet calm and gives you control of the journey. If you prefer to send your pet alone (common for vet pickups), that can also be arranged - just let us know who is handing over and who is receiving.

If you are moving a household rather than a single animal, mention it up front. Pet transport often runs alongside a family transport booking or a family chauffeur arrangement, and planning both together is simpler than booking them separately on the day.

Dog and Pet Transport Dubai - FAQ

Do you offer dog transport in Dubai?

Yes. Dog transport is one of our regular bookings across Dubai and the wider UAE. We move dogs to vets, groomers, boarding facilities, new homes, and airport terminals. Tell us the breed, approximate weight, and whether your dog travels in a carrier or on a harness when you WhatsApp us, and we prepare the vehicle before the driver sets off.

Do you transport large dogs?

Yes. We transport large and extra-large dogs. The GMC Yukon has enough space for big breeds to lie down with the rear seats folded, and the owner still has a seat. Tell us the breed and approximate size when you book so we can set the vehicle up correctly.

Can I travel with my dog?

Yes, and most owners do. Riding with your dog keeps the animal calmer and means you can manage the pickup and drop-off yourself. If you would rather send your dog alone, which is common for vet collections and grooming pickups, that can be arranged with advance notice and a contact at both ends.

Does my pet need to be in a carrier?

A carrier is recommended for cats and small animals. For larger dogs, a harness or a carrier works depending on size. Whatever your setup, the animal should be secured rather than loose in the cabin. Let us know your arrangement when booking and we will advise accordingly.

Is pet transport available to Abu Dhabi?

Yes. Inter-emirate pet transport is available. Dubai to Abu Dhabi, Dubai to Sharjah, Dubai to Ajman, and other UAE routes are all covered. Mention the destination and your pet details when you book. If your pickup is inside Abu Dhabi rather than Dubai, see our Pet Taxi Abu Dhabi page instead.

Do you provide international pet relocation?

No. We provide ground transport inside the UAE only. Airline bookings, import and export permits, customs clearance, and crate certification are handled by specialist pet relocation companies. We are happy to drive your pet to the cargo terminal or to the relocator once those arrangements are in place. Check current requirements with your airline and the relevant authority.

How should I prepare my dog for transport in summer?

Avoid a full meal in the two hours before travel, offer water beforehand, and bring a collapsible bowl for the journey. In UAE summer, keep the walk between your door and the vehicle short, use shaded or basement parking where you can, and travel earlier in the morning or later in the evening for longer trips. The vehicle is cooled before pickup and the animal is never left in it unattended.

Do you transport cats and other animals?

Yes. Cats travel in a closed carrier secured on a seat or in the footwell. Rabbits, birds, and small caged animals are fine on the same basis. For anything unusual, message us with the species and the container you use and we will confirm before you book.

Is there an extra charge for pet transport?

Pet transport is priced as a standard trip - we factor in vehicle preparation. The price is quoted upfront before you confirm the booking. No hidden charges.

Can we travel with multiple pets?

Yes. Multiple pets are fine. Tell us how many and what sizes when you book. We will confirm whether the GMC Yukon or Mercedes Vito is more suitable for your situation.

Do you do vet trips and relocation pet transport?

Yes. Regular vet trips, emergency vet transport, and full relocation moves within the UAE are all available. For relocations involving airports and international travel, you handle the airline paperwork - we handle the ground transport.
