What Crew Transportation Actually Involves
Crew transport is not the same product as executive chauffeuring. It is recurring, schedule-driven, and unforgiving: a cabin crew member who misses report because a car never showed does not just lose a ride, the airline potentially delays a departure. The operational requirements are different too. Nobody needs a Maybach at 3:40am on the way to Terminal 3. What the crewing department needs is a vehicle that is definitely there, a driver who knows the pickup point at the accommodation compound, and a single invoice at month end instead of 400 taxi receipts.
That is the account we run: roster in, transfers out, one corporate invoice with VAT at the end of the month. Below is how it works for the four crew types we move most.
Airline Cabin Crew Transfers: DXB and DWC
Most DXB-based crew accommodation sits in three clusters: Al Qusais (10-15 minutes from Terminal 3 via Damascus Street or the E311), Deira (15-20 minutes), and Dubai Silicon Oasis (around 20-25 minutes up the E311). Crews based at DWC (Al Maktoum International) are the harder problem: the airport is near Jebel Ali, roughly 60 km from those same clusters, and there is no metro option at 2am.
The rhythm of the work follows the flight schedule. DXB's long-haul bank departs between roughly 2am and 9am, so crew report times concentrate between midnight and 6am. We staff dedicated night drivers for these rosters rather than stretching a day shift, and every pickup is timed against the flight: report time minus the agreed buffer, not a guess. For arrivals, we track the inbound flight and re-time the pickup when a rotation lands late, the same system we run for DXB airport transfers generally.
Practical details that matter to crewing coordinators:
Roster Upload
Send the monthly or weekly roster by WhatsApp or email in whatever format you use. We build the dispatch schedule from it.
24/7 Dispatch
Report times of 2am, 3am, 4am are the core of this work, not an exception. Night rosters get dedicated drivers.
No-Show Protocol
Driver waits the agreed window, then dispatch calls the coordinator. Every no-show is logged and reported the same day.
Delay Handling
Arrival pickups are flight-tracked. Departure re-timings need one WhatsApp message from the coordinator.
Dedicated Vehicles
Consistent vehicles and drivers assigned to your account, so crews see familiar faces at the pickup point.
Monthly VAT Invoice
One consolidated invoice, TRN included, itemised per transfer with date, crew reference, and route.
Typical Crew Routes and Rates
| Route | Approx. Time | Per Transfer (AED) |
|---|---|---|
| Al Qusais to DXB Terminal 3 | 10-15 min | AED 120-150 |
| Deira to DXB Terminal 1 or 3 | 15-20 min | AED 120-150 |
| Dubai Silicon Oasis to DXB | 20-25 min | AED 140-180 |
| Dubai Marina / JBR to DXB | 30-40 min | AED 150-180 |
| Al Qusais or Deira to DWC | 50-60 min | AED 230-280 |
| Dubai Marina to DWC | 35-45 min | AED 200-260 |
| Port Rashid to DXB (marine crew) | 20-25 min | AED 130-170 |
| Jebel Ali Port to DWC (marine crew) | 25-30 min | AED 180-230 |
Rates are per vehicle, not per person, and include Salik (AED 4 per gate). Prices exclude VAT (5%). Volume accounts of 60+ transfers per month qualify for negotiated rates.
Hotel Staff Shuttles
Hotels along Sheikh Zayed Road, in the Marina, and on Palm Jumeirah house much of their staff in accommodation in Al Quoz, International City, or Dubai Investments Park, and someone has to move those teams to and from the property every day. A fixed-route staff shuttle on a Mercedes Vito (8 seats) runs the same times, same stops, every day, priced as a monthly package rather than per trip. Shift patterns with 6am starts and midnight finishes fit the same 24/7 dispatch we already run for airline crews. For guest-facing transport at the same property, see our business chauffeur service.
Film and Production Crews
Dubai gets a steady flow of commercial shoots, and production transport has its own logic: unit moves at 4:30am to catch first light at a desert location off the E611, a Vito full of camera assistants and pelican cases, and a schedule that changes the night before. We run production accounts the same way as airline rosters: the production coordinator sends the next day's call sheet movements, we assign vehicles, and the production company gets one invoice per job. The Mercedes Vito handles crew plus equipment; for department heads and talent, sedans run separately on the same account.
Marine and Offshore Crew Changes
Ship agents handling crew changes at Port Rashid and Jebel Ali use us for the land leg: signing-off seafarers from the port gate to DXB or DWC (Al Maktoum), and joining crew from arrivals to the vessel. Berthing times slip, so these bookings stay flexible against the agent's updates rather than locked to a fixed hour. Cruise ship crew rotating at Mina Rashid work the same way; the process for that terminal is covered in our cruise terminal transfer guide. One Vito moves up to 8 crew with sea bags in a single run, which nearly always beats splitting the group across taxis.
How the Account Works
Setup takes one email: company name, TRN if you want VAT recovery, expected monthly volume, and the routes involved. We agree fixed per-transfer rates, you send the first roster, and transfers start. Payment is monthly against the consolidated invoice on net-30 terms for established accounts. There is no app to onboard crews onto and no per-trip payment handling: the coordinator manages the schedule, crews just get picked up.
