Important: DWC vs DXB - confirm your terminal
Al Maktoum International (DWC) is a completely different airport from Dubai International (DXB). Both are in Dubai but they are 60+ km apart. Many passengers confuse them. Always confirm your airport from your booking reference: DXB = Dubai International, DWC = Al Maktoum.
Departure Buffer Times from Dubai
Given the distance and the limited Careem/Uber availability in Dubai South, pre-booking is strongly recommended for all DWC departures. Recommended minimum buffer times from your Dubai location to DWC:
- From Dubai Marina / JBR: Depart 3 hours before flight, or 3.5 hours during peak hours
- From Downtown / DIFC: Depart 3 hours before flight, 3.5-4 hours during peak hours
- From Deira / Airport area: Depart 3.5-4 hours before flight
- From Abu Dhabi city: Depart 2.5-3 hours before flight
