The Lexus taxi in Dubai is a premium tier vehicle operated within the Dubai RTA (Roads and Transport Authority) taxi system. These are metered vehicles - typically Lexus ES sedans - that function as an upgraded version of the standard cream-colored Dubai taxi. They can be requested through the official Dubai Taxi app, but they cannot be pre-booked for a specific time or reserved in advance.
The fleet size is small relative to the overall number of taxis operating in Dubai. Availability is unpredictable and depends entirely on how many are in circulation near your location at the time you request one. For airport pickups with specific arrival times, early-morning travel, or any journey where punctuality matters, the inability to pre-book is a significant limitation.
Why People Look for Lexus Taxis
The appeal of a Lexus taxi is straightforward: a better vehicle, a more professional experience, and perceived status above the standard taxi. For visitors and residents used to better transport, the comfort gap between a standard taxi and the Lexus option is noticeable.
